Information:
Cost: $1,850 program fee
Courses offered: Students will enroll in 6 credits total. Two 3-credit courses: HIST 4026/6026 Public History in Washington, DC and TXMI 5710/7710 Introduction to Design History and Museums in Washington, DC. Both courses count as electives for the museum studies certificate program but are open to all students. There will be two faculty members, one for each class.
Spaces Available: 11 students. Both graduate and undergraduate students are eligible.
Dates: May 8, 2027 - May 29, 2027
Living Arrangements: Students will live in Delta Hall, a University of Georgia dormitory near two metro stops and many D.C features.
Potential Site Visits Include: Hillwood Museum, National Museum of African American History and Culture, Sewell-Belmont House, Textile Museum, National Gallery of Art, National Portrait Gallery, President Lincoln's Cottage, Mount Vernon, National Museum of American History, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Folger Shakespeare Library, Library of Congress, U.S. Capitol, and others.
