Undergraduate Students
FACS Undergraduate Research: Visit Undergraduate Research to learn about faculty-mentored research opportunities and funding. Undergraduate students may also qualify for the Burton-Fowler Undergraduate Research Award, which recognizes outstanding research conducted by FACS undergraduate students.
Nutritional Sciences: Contact Dr. Emily Noble to see if you qualify for the Berdanier Grant, which supports undergraduate research with faculty and research teams.
Graduate Students
Jan Hathcote Social Science Academic Support Fund: The Jan Hathcote Social Science Academic Support Fund supports FACS M.S. and doctoral students who have identified a research project, have the support of their major professor, and have a strong interest in the social sciences. Up to $1,500 is available each academic year.
Endsley-Peifer Student Research Award: The Endsley-Peifer Student Research Award recognizes graduate student research that makes significant contributions to advancing knowledge in one or more FACS specialty areas, with particular emphasis on research that may enhance the physical or social quality of life for families.
HDFS Doctoral Students: Contact Dr. Steven Kogan to see if you qualify for the Price and Coker Award.
Outreach + Experiential Learning
Undergraduate and graduate students: View the Don Bower Extension Experience Fund, which provides up to $1,500 for travel, conference fees, supplies, or other expenses related to Extension or internship experiences.
Department + Program-Specific Opportunities
Textiles, Merchandising and Interiors
TMI students can apply for scholarships supporting internships, study abroad, and academic excellence through the Georgia Soft Goods Education Foundation. Applications for these scholarships are available each fall semester.
TMI students may also apply for national scholarships through the National Retail Federation, Fashion Scholarship Fund, and the AATCC Concept @ Consumer Student Merchandising Competition. For more information or to apply, contact Greg Vessels.
Human Development and Family Science
Karen S. Wampler Marriage & Family Therapy Award: This award is available to students in the Marriage and Family Therapy Certificate program. To be considered, a student must have demonstrated superior skills in both research and clinical work.
Teaching + Innovation
Faculty: The Anne Sweaney Innovation Fund supports current and new projects and programs designed to advance teaching and learning and respond to emerging needs in the college.
