Why I chose my major

I chose nutritional sciences because of my interest on the impact of nutrition on health
outcomes, and I believe nutrition is one of the most powerful yet underutilized tools in
healthcare. My long-term goal entering college was to work in healthcare and still is today.
With that in mind, I chose to study nutrition so I could gain a deeper understanding of how
it influences health and then bring that perspective into patient care.

What I like most about FACS

What I appreciate most about FACS is the strong sense of community among the staff and
students. The faculty are incredibly willing to offer advice and guidance whenever it’s needed. My professors have been so approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making learning enjoyable and clinically relevant. They create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help, which has made my experience especially meaningful. FACS also introduced me to Dr. Noble’s lab, which exposed me to the research side of academia. I learned what goes into making scientific presentations and peer-reviewed articles. Overall, I gained invaluable knowledge, experience, and connections with professors, undergraduates, and graduate students throughout my time at FACS.

Post-graduation plans

I have recently been accepted into Emory’s Master of Medical Science Program in Anesthesiology to become a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant this upcoming August.
