CHDD educates, informs, and serves people with disabilities and the communities where they live, learn, work, and contribute.
IMPACT ACCROSS GEORGIA
CHDD has educational programs and outreach projects touching every corner of the state. Our core funding is provided by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and apart of the UCEDD Network. All of CHDD's projects are funded by differeent grants, contracts, and private scholarships.
FAST FACTS
- CHDD ranks as one of UGA's oldest continuously-funded federal programs
- President John F. Kennedy is responsible for the existence of CHDD and the other 67 centers known as UCEDD’s
- People with disabilities make up about 20% of the population but are featured in less than 2% of the images we see in the media.
- CHDD's Disability Studies Certificate Program was ranked #17 of the Top 20 Best Deals for Disability Studies by Great College Deals in 2016.

HISTORY
